About Kindred Wooden

Est. 2026 · Made slow

A small studio
for objects meant
to outlast us.

Kindred Wooden is a one-person walnut studio. Each keepsake is hand-shaped from a single block of North American walnut, deep-engraved with your names, and finished by the same pair of hands, one at a time.

The studio began with a simple observation: most anniversary gifts are made to be unwrapped, not kept. Cards are recycled. Bouquets wilt. Ornaments end up in a drawer within a year. We wanted to make the opposite kind of thing — an object heavy enough in your hand that you'd notice it every time you moved it, quiet enough to belong on a shelf, and personal enough that it couldn't sit in anyone else's home.

So we chose walnut. Walnut is the wood American cabinetmakers reach for when they want something to look better in fifty years than it does today. It develops. It deepens. It carries the marks of the room it lives in without ever looking scratched.

What we make

Sculptural keepsakes carved from a single walnut block — infinity-heart couples, kissing birds, cat trees with hidden compartments, olive-branch anniversary pieces. Every sculpture is finished with a name and a date deep-engraved into the base, then charcoal-burned so the letters read black against the grain and won't fade the way ink or paint does.

Why one person

The studio is small on purpose. Owen — that's me — is the only pair of hands that touches your piece from block to shipping box. That means longer lead times than a factory would give you, but it also means the piece that arrives is the piece I saw finished on the bench. I refuse to outsource the parts that make a keepsake feel like one.

Slow work, made once, meant to outlast us.

Where we ship from

Every sculpture ships worldwide from our Hong Kong studio with tracked international delivery. Most customers receive their piece within 7–14 business days after personalization is finalized. See our Shipping & Returns page for a full breakdown by region.

A gift for the moment that mattered

Most of our customers are commissioning a piece for a wedding, an anniversary, or the loss of someone they loved. If you're planning one of those moments, we want the piece to feel considered — not rushed, not off-the-shelf. Tell us the names, the date, and the story if it helps. We read everything.
