Long-distance couples send each other a lot of things: care packages, letters, playlists, texts. What most of these have in common is that they're consumed once and then gone. A meal, a letter re-read a few times, a song that eventually gets lost in the algorithm.
What has less precedent — but works really well — is a permanent object that lives in the other person's home and is visible every day.
Why a sculpture works for LDR
Because it doesn't get consumed. A framed photo is close, but photos fade in importance surprisingly quickly. A physical object that stays on the bedside table, the desk, or the shelf next to the reading chair becomes a fixture. It's the last thing seen at night and the first thing seen in the morning.
Several of our long-distance customers have ordered a matched pair — the same sculpture, engraved identically, one shipped to each partner's address. When they eventually move in together, they have two pieces to consolidate, both of which carry the same history.
Pieces that work for LDR
Love Birds Sculpture. Two birds on one perch. The metaphor is uncomfortably on-the-nose but it works. Small enough to fit on any bedside table, personal enough to feel intimate.
Infinity Heart Sculpture. The infinity form reads well across distance — the loop keeps going regardless of geography. Our most common LDR order.
Bear Couple Shelf. Two bears sitting close together on a shared branch. Sometimes ordered as a paired set — one bear-shaped piece to each person — but the couple version works too.
Practical notes for cross-border shipping
We ship worldwide from Hong Kong. Most destinations arrive within 7-14 business days after production. Customs duties depend on your country and are the recipient's responsibility unless you specify otherwise at checkout.
If you want to surprise a partner and don't want the tracking to give it away, we can ship with a plain sender name — please just leave a note at checkout. We can also delay dispatch by up to 10 days to line up with a specific arrival window (birthday, anniversary, the day of a video call reveal).
